Vanadium
What It Is
Vanadium is a trace mineral – an inorganic nutrient. This means it’s a nutrient that does not come from living matter. Vanadium is present in food, but at very low levels, and the human body requires vanadium to function properly.
Vanadium is the element found in nature while vanadyl sulfate is a "salt" of vanadium. Vanadyl sulfate is actually more physiologically relevant and can be better absorbed by the body than elemental vanadium. What It Does
Vanadyl sulfate mimics the action of the hormone insulin. Produced by special cells in the pancreas, insulin controls the body’s metabolism of carbohydrates and protein, breaking them down so the body can use them to make energy. Studies show that vanadyl sulfate is effective in normalizing blood sugar levels and controlling conditions such as insulin resistance, or Type 2 diabetes.
Vanadium is just one of 22 ingredients in the Vita-Betic™ blend multi-vitamin, mineral and herb supplement, formulated to meet the dietary needs of diabetics. Click here for more information on the Vita-Betic formula, or click here for information how to receive FREE vitamins.
