Fenugreek
What It Is
Fenugreek is an herb that grows in the Mediterranean and Asia. It’s used as food and spice in many parts of the world, and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.
What It Does
Research has shown that fenugreek seeds help the body in two ways – by balancing blood sugar in diabetics and by having beneficial effects on triglycerides.
While fenugreek seeds have been shown to bring about hypoglycemic effects by stimulating glucose-dependant insulin secretion from the pancreas, they also lower serum triglycerides (TC), total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) which is the “bad cholesterol”.
Because fenugreek is rich in fiber that may be the reason it’s helpful in creating anti-diabetic effects as well as cholesterol lowering results.
Fenugreek is just one of 22 ingredients in the Vita-Betic™ blend multi-vitamin, mineral and herb supplement, formulated to meet the dietary needs of diabetics. Click here for more information on the Vita-Betic formula, or click here for information how to receive FREE vitamins.
